Energy Angels To Fuel Industry (Puget Sound Business Journal)

The Northwest Energy Angel Group was formed in late 2005 and has already financed its first clean tech company.

A new angel investor group has been launched by Seattle VC Martin Tobias and Washington state House energy chair Jeff Morris.

According to Deirdre Gregg's "Energy angels to fuel industry" article in the PSBJ, the Northwest Energy Angel Group meets six times a year to learn about energy technologies and policies, and to review presentations from startups. The group has already funded their first company.

"If you have any idea that you want to present to early stage investors, there is now a forum locally for presenting those ideas," said Tobias, plugging the group at an MIT Enterprise Forum event about entrepreneuring in renewable energy.

Tobias is also CEO of Seattle Biodiesel, and a very visible figure in the Northwest clean tech community. Morris is also Director of the Northwest Energy Technology Collaborative. Fifteen investors have joined their group, and they hope to reach 50 or more members.

Investors interested in joining the group should contact Nate Silverman at the Washington Technology Center, 206-616-7153. MATR ran an article by Silverman about becoming a member.

More information for investors and entrepreneurs is available on the NWETC site, including a PDF. Here's how NWETC describes the group:

The Northwest Energy Angel Group is a membership organization of successful entrepreneurs, retired executives, and other business leaders in the Pacific Northwest, who provide investment capital, strategic advice and mentoring to early-stage companies or companies embarking on major expansion efforts to help them achieve market leadership. Northwest Energy Angels is unique in that it focuses only on the energy industry, including alternative sources of energy, improved distribution, or efficient transmission.

Dear manager hi,
I'm Dr. Dr. Yaser F Ali, I'm a the president of the 'CARE OF INVENTION AND INDUSTRY SOCIETY, EGYPT' also I'm lecturer of biomaterials Faculty of Dentistry Minia University, Egypt. We've registered a patent for a new source of renewal energy. So the renewal energy will be no longer from sun, wind, water or bio-fuel but we will add from moving objects such as trains, cars, animals or even people based on gear box system. this source is important in almost all highly civilized countries as well as developing countries it produce electricity at the site of use. Moving objects are present in every where and the dynamic is proportional to the civilization and need of energy. So if you like to be a pioneer in this field as patent owner or producing this type of electric generation. for more details please contact me. Looking for you reply.
the idea in short is to convert the static and dynamic energy of the moving objects by the help of gravity to rotate a gear box connected to electric generator. For example moving train(or car) can move by levers a large gear which is in turn convert the motion to smaller ones. The gears motions are interconnected so continuous motion exist over 24 hours. The estimated rotation of the gear is more than that for wind mille. It is important because it could be produced at the site of utilization in cities

With my best regards
Sincerely
Dr. Dr. yaser F Ali

There is an easy way to make a fighly efficient engine for industrial nad transportation uses. i know how to make it. i don't have the money to pursue it.
