Gatorade Goes Green, Gets Gold (Archi-Tech)

Gatorade has earned Gold LEED Certification for its new manufacturing plant, in part by maximizing its energy efficiency.

I expected to see more buzz about this newly certified LEED Gold facility owned by a recognized consumer brand. If nothing else, "energy efficiency" and "energy drink" seem like a gold mine of puns. Thus far, most of the mentions have been the verbatim press release written by the company, like Archi-Tech Magazine's "Gatorade Goes Green, Gets Gold."

From an energy perspective, the facility installed energy-saving measures such as high-efficiency boilers, water heaters, and HVAC equipment with calibrated control systems. Now, someone light a fire under the PepsiCo marketing department.
