Fat Spaniel Launches Insight Manager Multi-Site Dashboard at Solar Power 2007

SOLAR POWER 2007 -- Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), maintenance contracts, and other long-term solar energy customer agreements all require that someone keep a vigilant watch over system performance. That's not easy for operators with long lists of systems to monitor. Fat Spaniel today announced Insight Manager, designed to monitor multiple sites in a single, web-based dashboard.

Fat Spaniel's Insight multi-location dashboard displays information regarding the name, location, kW capacity, and color-coded health status for all of the operator’s solar energy systems.

Fat Spaniel Technologies says Insight Manager is designed to maximize system energy output, reduce maintenance costs and increase customer satisfaction through a suite of multi-site management features. Here's how it works:

A dashboard displays information regarding the name, location, kW capacity, and color-coded health status for all of the operator’s solar energy systems. Alert options deliver email notifications when system faults or other events occur. An event log tracks and displays events such as inverter faults, showing the inverter affected, the exact nature of the fault and the timeframe of the condition in order to help diagnose and prevent future system downtime. Operators can drill down into simple or detailed web views for each site. Both real-time and historical system data is available for reference and download.

“As the solar market continues to expand, we find that our partners are increasingly responsible for managing and maintaining a growing number of individual systems," said Chris Beekhuis, president and CTO of Fat Spaniel Technologies, in a media release. "Insight Manager brings to bear Fat Spaniel’s tenets of accountability, transparency, reliability and high performance.”

The new management service is compatible with a range of solar hardware options including: revenue-grade meters, environmental sensors, inverters supported with direct monitoring, and inverters with extended fault code capabilities.
