Solar Decathlon 2007 Winners

Minutes ago, at 2:00 Eastern time, after two weeks of hard work, lots of visitors, and tense anticipation (not to mention trying to keep up with homework), the student builders of 20 solar-powered model homes learned which school won the overall contest.

Just being in Washington D.C. this week is a prize for every team. After all, only 20 entrants were selected to participate in the Solar Decathlon contest, which concluded today with the announcement of the winners.

As the name implies, the Solar Decathlon actually consists of ten competitions. Here are the Solar Decathlon 2007 winners in each competition.

This was a tough competition. Still, to focus on the overall winners almost seems a disservice to 17 teams who worked very hard and created marvelous dwellings. Congratulations, all!
