Green Summit Celebrates "The Year of Carbon Finance and Trading"
The 7th Annual Wall Street Green Trading Summit is an environmental financial market event that takes place in New York City April 2 and 3, 2008. The two-day event covers carbon emissions trading and finance, renewable energy markets, cleantech venture capital, green hedge funds and energy efficiency financial markets.
February 28, 2008
According to Wall Street Green Trading Summit VII organizer Peter C. Fusaro, 2008 is the beginning of global carbon markets under the Kyoto Protocol.
Carbon trading is gaining interest among companies seeking ways to reduce their carbon footprints, but it's not exactly an easily understood discipline. What exactly is carbon neutral? How are clean energy technologies tied to emissions trading? What are the carbon investment opportunities?
The Summit promises to examine and answer these and other questions about carbon trading and investment. Delegates will have a chance to hear presentations by the presidents or CEOs of 17 companies, including APX, MMA Renewable Ventures, Sterling Planet, EnerNOC, Evolution Markets, Fat Spaniel Technologies, Gridpoint and Orion Energy Services.
Additional presentations are planned, from Morrison & Foerster, Point Carbon, NYMEX, Natsource, EcoSecurities, and Brown Rudnick.
On the agenda for WSGTS 2008:
- U.S. carbon market developments
- The difference between carbon credits & offsets
- What’s new in European carbon trading
- Impact of carbon regulation on U.S. businesses
- The commercial value of carbon sequestration
- What is NYMEX’s green exchange
- How renewables & carbon offsets interact
