Top 3 Energy Products for Green Building

GREENBUILD 2008 -- An annual feature of the conference is the announcement of the Top-10 Green Building Products by BuildingGreen. This year, the company has listed materials, paints, finishes, and even rainwater storage tanks, but it has also named three energy-related products.

The publisher of the GreenSpec Directory and Environmental Building News announced the 2008 Top-10 Green Building Products at Greenbuild. Three of the products this year save energy, including a solar water heater, a heat-recovery ventilation system and a system for energy monitoring.

The SunCache solar water heating system is designed for warm climates.

The Harpiris Energy "SunCache" is an inexpensive solar water heater. It works best for people that take their hot showers in the afternoon or early evening.

The "Matrix" from NTI combines a gas-fired condensing boiler and furnace, a condensing on-demand water heater, and a heat-recovery ventilator into a single unit, reducing natural gas consumption by 30 percent relative to conventional heating and hot water systems.

The Agilewaves Resource Monitor provides building owners with Web-based data on their use of electricity, natural gas, and water. The system can also monitor the output from solar energy systems and can track temperature, humidity, carbon emissions, and other data, in real time.
